#346 S&W M&P Target

It is said that of the S&W revolvers commonly produced with fixed sights, only about 10% were manufactured with an adjustable target rear sight when offered as an option...This nearly 100 year old example has been well cared for, and may have initially been ordered by a demanding shooter accustomed to the best...It was a single gun order from Shapleigh Hardware in St. Louis Missouri, a firm used to turning in orders for dozens, even hundreds of guns on a single order...When a firm of this size turns in an order for only one particular gun, it usually indicates it has an order from a customer highly placed in the business, political or law enforcement world...I feel fortunate to own this very well kept target revolver together with the Letter of Authentication from the S&W Historical Foundation as well as the original Shapleigh order, shipping instructions, factory invoice and shipping ledger entry...

Pictures will follow after initial cleanup...
